Logan finished his summer swimming experience with a BANG, as he attended swim camp and performed in his first mini-meet... bringing home 3 gold medals and one silver.  You have to watch the video, it is priceless!  I am soooo proud of both of my boys (notice on the video how loyal Brody is standing right next to the pool so he can be first to congratulate Logan!) and their amazing efforts this summer.

I recall saying this before but this time I mean it. The last entry about where I am at in programming was entered into a child blog of the roault.com blog. Evidently DotNetNuke doesn't allow these entries to be isolated. The View module for the blog hasa setting for it but it either doesn't work or works different than what it appears the intent was.

At any rate, I've found another soltution to that. I am creating and publishing articles on the Code page that will allow me to s ... Read More »

The title is a quote from the Matrix (first movie) by the character called Cyper. The actor is Joe Pantoliano, he's got a great site, you should check it out. Funny, the character that was hiding the fact he resented being set free from the Matrix is called Cypher. A good definition for Cypher can be found at Read More »

This last Sunday we went for a hike at the South Slough Estuary near Charleston. I was surprised the sun had come out that day. We took the trail down to the observation deck. The last part of the trail at the bottom where you emerge from the forest onto the platform walkway at the marsh was pretty spectacular. Though it was cold on top of the hill and all the way down the trail a warm spring wind was blowing up the marsh to the platforms. I think when people say "spring is in the air" th ... Read More »

Five Pine Lodge

We just made reservations to stay at Five Pine Lodge in Sisters the end of this month. Looks like a nice place from the website. Tripcheck had 6 reviews and they were all really good. I like the style. We are only going overnight (wish it was at least 2 nights).

The site is rounding out nicley. I find I can add a lot more content using DotNetNuke. I'll try to refrain from waxing poetic about it. I think I'll create logins for friends and family so they can access the restricted content. Most things will stay up and free (like downloads) unless the bandwidth gets to great...but mine is a tiny little site tucked away in a corner of the web.

The photo galleries turned out nice. Still need to get more photos on there (these were just ... Read More »

So I finally got the website back on-line. Over the last year it has moved from a PHP/MySQL platform to .NET over SQL (Microsoft Starter Kit) and finally to DotNetNuke. I prefer DNN to anything else out there. Not only is it .Net based (over SQL) but it has the largest community of developers and designers.

In the future adding photo albums is going to be much easier and the performance is better than the starter kit I had hacked tog ... Read More »
